  • Directly Provided Data: When you create an account, register for an event, buy something, or contact us, you may provide your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, nationality, handicap, and the details of your registration. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s secure page; we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Sporting and Tournament Data: During your participation, we generate and record data such as registration details, tee times, scores, event results, Order of Merit points, and general performance statistics.
  • Automated Technical Data: Our website automatically collects standard log data, including IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, and navigation patterns, to ensure proper functionality and optimize user experience.
  • Order and Payment Records: what you bought, the amount, the date, the invoice number, and the transaction reference from our payment provider.
  • Practice and Account Activity: practice rounds and scores you record, memberships, entries and training sign-ups.
  • Security Data: sign-in attempts, IP addresses and browser information, used to protect accounts (for example, to lock an account after repeated failed sign-ins).

3. Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing

EGT processes your personal information strictly for legitimate organizational and sporting purposes. The primary legal bases for our processing activities include fulfilling our contractual obligations to you (such as tournament administration), complying with legal requirements, and pursuing our legitimate interests in promoting and developing golf in Egypt. Specifically, your data is used to manage registrations, verify eligibility, publish rankings, process payments, and communicate administrative updates.

4. Public Records, Photography, and Media

Due to the competitive and public nature of EGT events, certain sporting information is inherently public. Player names, categories, scores, and rankings will be published on our website, leaderboards, and promotional materials. Additionally, EGT tournaments are subject to photography and video recording. By participating, you acknowledge that your likeness, voice, and interviews may be captured and utilized by EGT, our sponsors, and media partners for broadcasting, archival, and marketing purposes.

5. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

EGT does not sell personal information. We may share your data with trusted third parties strictly to facilitate our services. These entities include golf club venues, event organizers, payment gateways, IT and cloud hosting providers, and professional advisors. In circumstances required by law, we may also disclose information to regulatory authorities. All third-party processors are bound by confidentiality obligations appropriate to the services they provide.

5A. Service Providers We Use

We share only what is needed with these providers:

  • Kashier — processes online payments and refunds.
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile) — a bot check on the sign-up form. It receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details to tell people from automated programs.
  • Our hosting and email service providers — store the website and its data and deliver our account and order emails.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising tools. If we start to, we will update this policy and name them here.

6. International Data Transfers

In the course of utilizing cloud-based infrastructure or international service providers, your data may be transferred to and stored in jurisdictions outside of Egypt. EGT ensures that any such international transfers are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws, employing appropriate safeguards to guarantee data security.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep your cart and checkout working. Your browser also stores your display preference (light or dark mode). Our sign-up form loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set its own technical cookies. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. You control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, and disabling cookies may affect sign-in and checkout.

8. Data Security and Retention

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including email confirmation for new accounts, limits on repeated failed sign-ins, and encrypted connections (HTTPS). EGT retains your personal information only for the duration necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. This includes maintaining historical tournament records, resolving disputes, and adhering to financial and legal retention mandates.

We keep order, invoice and payment records for as long as the law requires us to. Account data is kept while your account is active. You may ask us to delete your account; we will delete or anonymize your personal data except what we must keep by law and results that are part of published tournament records.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable data protection regulations, you hold specific rights regarding your personal data. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. Furthermore, you have the right to restrict or object to certain processing activities, including opting out of direct marketing communications.

9A. Marketing Emails

If you subscribe to our newsletter or choose to receive updates, we use your email address to send them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Account and order emails are not marketing and are sent as part of the service.

10. Children’s Privacy

EGT events may include participants under the age of 18, subject to specific tournament regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without obtaining appropriate consent from a parent or legal guardian. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data without proper authorization, please notify us immediately.
